Nurture your creative spirit by Drawing, making artwork in collage/ assemblage or mixed media, creative writing, painting or photography.
Art and Creativity Workshops
These art workshops are accessible to everyone and open to anyone who would like to discover or develop their creative side. Suitable for both beginners and accomplished artists. Workshops are tailored using an eclectic mix of Art and the Senses, Expressive Art, Art as Meditation, Environmental Art. Workshops will be created to meet the needs of the individuals taking part.
Art and the Senses
Using the senses as an inspirational starting point, we will spend time outside absorbing the natural environment through touch, sight, hearing, taste and smell. You will then transcribe your experiences into images or an ‘on-site’ assemblage (land art) in a way that feels authentic to you.
Expressive Art
Focusing on creative expression you will explore your imagination and intuitive side while learning simple techniques for creating art from thoughts, ideas, or feelings. A relaxed ‘play-time’ using colour/ paper/ charcoal or found materials for free mark-making.
Art as Meditation
Art can be used as a focus for meditation, the art utensil becomes an extension of the body and while in a relaxed state we can create uplifting artworks, with the cognitive mind being at rest.
Environmental Art
You can create an assemblage from natural and found materials (e.g. Andy Goldsworthy).
During August we offer half day workshops for those who want to gain confidence to exercise their creative skills. Perhaps you want to draw, write poetry, work in collage, or take photographs and have not had much opportunity. Jenny’s gentle and encouraging nature will help nurture your creative side. The workshops will start with a short walk in a truly idyllic location, gathering inspiration from the surrounding views, seasonal colours, birdsong, skyline and the wild hedge lines. The workshops themselves will be informal and combine many different approaches. The small group will then share our ideas over a cup of tea and spend a few hours engaging our creative side and make a piece of work to express our experience of the land.
The aim of the workshops is to help nurture individuals to find their creative expression.
Materials are provided, but please contact us if you have specific requirements.
